Teacher killed in school library in Taufkirchen an der Pram – Ex-partner apparently turns himself in after the crime

As Alois Ebner, the head of the public prosecutor's office in Ried, confirmed on Friday evening, a 29-year-old teacher at the Mittelschule Taufkirchen is alleged to have killed a 28-year-old female colleague. He is also said to have worked there as a teacher. Both were teachers. According to Ebner, the suspect is the victim's ex-boyfriend: "Ihr 29-jähriger Ex-Freund soll die Tat ersten Ermittlungen zufolge begangen haben." He described the crime to the OÖN as a "furchtbare Bluttat".

Suspect's flight and suicide

The alleged perpetrator then committed suicide. According to initial investigations, he drove away by car after the crime and shot himself in his moving vehicle. The car crashed into a tree several kilometers away; the man's body was found in the wreckage. The man's body showed gunshot wounds to the head. "Der Täter ist nach der Tat mit dem Auto davongefahren. Er hat sich laut ersten Ermittlungen in seinem fahrenden Auto erschossen", Ebner is quoted as saying.

Police confirmed corresponding online reports by Krone and Oberösterreichische Nachrichten on Friday evening.
