The top candidates of the competing parties cast their votes in Graz on Sunday for the municipal council election and expressed confidence about the chances of their respective lists.

The municipal council election in the Styrian capital began at 7:00 a.m. with 111 polling stations. As was customary in previous elections, the top candidates were among the early voters on election day itself: by noon, all leading figures had cast their ballots.

High Voter Turnout Expected

A total of 225,883 people are eligible to vote, compared with 223,512 in the 2021 election. Voters can choose between eleven parties and lists. The polling stations close at 4:00 p.m., with an initial projection expected at 5:00 p.m.
