The crypto company World Liberty Financial, which is associated with U.S. President Donald Trump, uses AI models from the Chinese provider WorldClaw, fueling the debate over the Trump administration's approach to China.

The collaboration between World Liberty Financial and the Chinese company WorldClaw is at the center of a growing debate over potential conflicts of interest. According to reports, the crypto project relies on AI models from WorldClaw, a Chinese provider that acts as a technology partner in the region. Observers point out that the same U.S. government is simultaneously pursuing a notably more restrictive line toward Chinese tech companies — for example, through export controls on semiconductors and restrictions on apps.

"On the other hand, it can be argued that the Trump administration is acting less aggressively toward Chinese companies and is instead pursuing a 'business-first' approach," the reporting states. The collaboration with WorldClaw is cited as evidence for this reading. In Washington, the question is being raised whether the president's private business ties undermine or complement the foreign policy line toward Beijing.
