U.S. President Donald Trump plans to temporarily suspend U.S. operations securing passage through the Strait of Hormuz, senior government officials confirmed on Monday afternoon.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Caine provided an update on the conflict with Iran on Monday. It was revealed that Operation "Mighty Fury" is now considered complete. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated, "We have achieved the objectives of this operation."

Meanwhile, Iranian air defenses reported intercepting drones over Qeshm Island. Tensions in the region remain high, although a second U.S. merchant ship safely navigated the Strait of Hormuz. A damaged South Korean cargo ship was towed away following an explosion.
