Former US supermodel Tyra Banks has sued streaming service Netflix, accusing the company of taking statements from an interview lasting more than three hours out of context and reassembling them in a documentary series about "America's Next Top Model" in order to support a false and defamatory narrative that has nothing to do with what she actually said.

The lawsuit, filed on June 13, is directed against the US streaming service Netflix and the companies involved in the production. As several US media outlets reported on Monday, citing court documents, the 52-year-old accuses the company of defamation. The lawsuit is connected to the documentary series "Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model," which was released on Netflix in February 2026 and critically reexamines the casting show.
