Vienna, 20 August 2026

The Austrian insurance group UNIQA increased its pre-tax result by 10.5 percent to 327 million euros in the first half of 2026 and confirmed its outlook for the full year.

The rise in gross written premiums by 12.0 percent to 4.9 billion euros underscores the group's growth momentum. According to the company, the development was supported both by the home market of Austria and by international markets, particularly Poland and the broader Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. The net combined ratio – that is, the ratio of claims and administrative expenses to premium income – stood at 91.6 percent, a very good level.

Net group profit grew by 11.1 percent in the half-year to 258 million euros. This continues the earnings trend the group has documented over several quarters. UNIQA has repeatedly emphasized recently that its "UNIQA 3.0 – Growing Impact" strategy is geared toward sustainable, profitable growth in its core markets.
