VfB Stuttgart celebrated a clear away win in the first round of the DFB-Pokal at third-division side Hansa Rostock, in which the newly signed striker Leon Dajaku played a key role with three goals.
The DFB-Pokal match between Hansa Rostock and VfB Stuttgart took place in August and was part of the first round of the cup competition. The third-division side hosted the Bundesliga team at their home stadium, but Oliver Schmidt's side had no chance against the clear favourites from Stuttgart. Stuttgart controlled the game from the start and consistently made use of their superiority on the ball.
The focus was particularly on Leon Dajaku, who had only been signed by Stuttgart shortly before the cup match and recommended himself for further appearances with a strong performance. The attacker scored three goals and thus made the main contribution to the Swabians comfortably clearing the first hurdle in the competition. Even before the match, Dajaku had been presented as a new attacking option for the upcoming tasks.
