Volders: 69-year-old missing – Police ask for information

The authorities do not rule out that the woman may have been seen beyond the narrower search area. Investigators are therefore explicitly turning to hikers, walkers and residents who were in the Volders, Watten and Großvolderberg area during the period in question. Information from neighboring municipalities is also being reviewed.

Police appeal to the public

Police have issued an official appeal to the public. It states: „Die Polizei bittet Personen, die die 69-Jährige seit ihrem Verschwinden gesehen haben oder Angaben zu ihrem Aufenthaltsort machen können, sich umgehend bei der Polizeiinspektion Wattens unter +43 (0)59133/7128 zu melden.“ The appeal has been disseminated through several channels, including a TV live stream by broadcaster OE24.

Police have so far provided no further details on the missing woman's state of health or the possible circumstances of her disappearance. Investigators are currently examining various leads and evaluating information from the public. Officers stress that even the smallest piece of information can be important for the search.

Search at the Großvolderberg

Municipal officials and emergency services have expressed concern over the woman's continued disappearance. The region around Volders and Watten is heavily frequented, as the Großvolderberg is a popular hiking and excursion area in Tyrol. The ongoing search is therefore being continued with high intensity.

Given the weather conditions in the Tyrolean Alps and the size of the search area, the public plays a key role. Hikers who have been in the Großvolderberg area in recent days are asked to report their observations. Photos or videos taken in the region during the period in question may also be relevant to investigators.
