Federal Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) is planning additional savings in order to keep the contributions of the statutory health insurance funds stable, while the states are raising significant objections to the planned cuts, particularly with regard to hospitals.
In view of an unexpectedly high expenditure dynamic at the statutory health insurance funds in the first quarter of this year, the Federal Government is tightening its savings plans in the healthcare sector. Federal Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) stated after a conference with her state counterparts in Hanover that, in arithmetic terms, around 2.5 billion euros would additionally have to be raised in order to achieve contribution stability. „Rechnerisch ergibt sich eine Summe von rund 2,5 Milliarden Euro“, sagte Warken.
