An unexploded aerial bomb from World War II was discovered during construction work in Karlsruhe's Südstadt district; the Baden-Württemberg state explosive ordnance disposal service planned to defuse the dud on Tuesday itself.

According to a statement from the city of Karlsruhe, the defusal was scheduled for the course of the day due to the condition of the dud. Because of the condition of the dud, the explosive ordnance disposal service of the state of Baden-Württemberg was to carry out the defusal during the course of the day, it was said.
