Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is demanding a further 30 billion euros from the European Union to strengthen Ukraine's strained air defense in light of intensified Russian missile attacks.
The demand comes at a time when Ukraine's air defense is visibly coming under pressure. Zelenskyy pointed out that Russia is increasingly deploying ballistic missiles, specifically targeting structures against which Ukraine can hardly defend itself any longer. "Dabei werden die Handlungen der russischen Armee noch deutlich spürbarer und zerstörerischer ausfallen," the president warned in Kyiv.
