A 17-year-old raced at 168 km/h on the B3 near Steyregg close to Linz on Saturday, endangering several other road users, according to the Upper Austria State Police Directorate.
Speed well above the limit
The teenager was reportedly driving a car on the B3 toward Linz when an undercover patrol of the Upper Austria State Police Directorate picked up the vehicle. The officers pulled the driver over and determined during the check that he was driving significantly above the posted speed limit. Police described the exact location of the stop as the stretch between Steyregg and Linz.
According to the information, the driver was a 17-year-old novice license holder. Police revoked his driving privileges immediately on the spot and prohibited him from continuing his journey. In addition, the teenager will be reported for several administrative offenses and on suspicion of endangering physical safety.
