A 23-year-old man from Linz-Land was stopped by police after driving at 140 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in Enns on Friday evening.
The incident began around 10 p.m. on the A1 Westautobahn near Enns, where police noticed the driver's erratic behavior. He was overtaking other vehicles on the right and then braking abruptly in front of them.
When officers attempted to pull him over, the driver exited at Enns Ost and accelerated dramatically on Harrstraße, reaching speeds over 140 km/h in a residential area with a 50 km/h limit.
Police successfully stopped the Audi, which was registered to the driver's father. The young man was found to be driving 90 km/h over the speed limit in multiple zones during the pursuit.
Authorities immediately impounded the vehicle and temporarily revoked the driver's license. He faces multiple administrative charges for reckless driving and excessive speeding.
