Following the contested state party conference of the AfD in Marl, the federal party is refraining from short-term drastic interventions in the NRW state association and is instead setting up an investigation commission tasked with examining finances, membership admissions, and potential disciplinary proceedings.

In the power struggle with the North Rhine-Westphalian state chief Martin Vincentz, the AfD federal executive has refrained from short-term drastic steps. As WDR learned from AfD circles, the leadership decided in a conference call merely to review possible disciplinary measures against members of the state association and to establish an investigation commission. According to dpa information, this commission is to be equipped in such a way that it can also take a closer look at the finances of the NRW state association and the admission practices for new members with the help of auditors.
