Linz, 20 May 2026

Austrian national team player Alessandro Schöpf has joined LASK on a contract running until summer 2028 after his successful spell at Wolfsberger AC.

The 32-year-old midfielder moves to Linz after winning the ÖFB Cup with WAC last season, where he played 42 matches, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. Schöpf's contract with WAC expired this summer, making him a free agent.

Schöpf brings extensive experience to LASK, having played 143 matches in the German Bundesliga for clubs like Schalke, Nürnberg, and Arminia Bielefeld. He also has Champions League and Europa League experience, with four and twelve appearances respectively.

At international level, Schöpf has earned 35 caps for Austria, scoring six goals. He was part of the squad for Euro 2016 and 2021, and has been nominated by coach Ralf Rangnick for the 2026 World Cup.
