Linz, Austria — May 18, 2026

LASK clinched the Austrian Bundesliga championship for the first time since 1965 with a decisive 3-0 win against Austria in the season finale, also securing a domestic double under the leadership of coach Didi Kühbauer.

A Historic Turnaround

When Dietmar Kühbauer was appointed LASK’s head coach on October 10, 2025, the team was languishing in second-to-last place, 11 points behind league leaders Sturm Graz. Less than eight months later, Kühbauer guided the club to its first league title in 61 years and a cup victory, completing a remarkable double. The 3-0 triumph over Austria in the final match sealed the championship, with players later celebrating by hoisting their coach onto their shoulders in front of jubilant fans.
