Mattighofen, July 06, 2026
The reigning MotoGP Vice World Champion Alex Marquez is moving to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing from the 2027 season, leaving the Italian Ducati customer team Gresini.
KTM confirmed the signing of the 30-year-old Spaniard on Monday, with whom the 30-year-old celebrated four Grand Prix victories. However, he already raced in the Moto3 World Championship with the Mattighofen-based outfit back in 2013. After stints at Honda and now at Ducati, the younger Marquez brother is thus returning to a manufacturer he was already associated with during an earlier phase of his career.
KTM is the third manufacturer the younger Marquez brother will race for in the "premier class." Before Ducati, he was already at home at Honda. The move underscores the transformation within the KTM factory team, which had recently attracted attention by signing young talents such as Pedro Acosta and now wants to field the Marquez brother as a second experienced Grand Prix winner alongside Acosta.
