All Italian injuries from the Crans-Montana incident have been able to leave Milan's Niguarda hospital and are on the road to recovery.

All Italian patients who had been admitted to Milan's Niguarda hospital following the Crans-Montana incident have since been discharged, according to the Lombardy health authority. This brings the inpatient treatment of the last remaining injured from Italy — who had been cared for in the wake of the events at the Swiss winter sports resort — to a close.

Lombardy regional health commissioner Guido Bertolaso commented on this on Wednesday to the Italian news agency Ansa. He emphasized that the discharge represented an important step on those affected's path back to everyday life, but at the same time stressed that recovery was not yet complete.
