Cupertino, 27 July 2026
Apple is preparing the market launch of its first smart glasses and is targeting a sales start no earlier than late 2027, after the company cited data protection concerns as the reason for a postponement, according to information from Bloomberg.
Originally, Apple had wanted to present the smart glasses – being developed internally under the codename N50 – as early as the end of this year and bring them to market in spring 2027. As Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reports, the developer presentation is now targeted for the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2027, with sales to follow at the end of 2027. Bloomberg had previously reported that data protection was the "Priorität Nummer 1" for the postponement.
