Special police units and the Frankfurt customs investigation office on Friday foiled at least one planned contract killing in Frankfurt's city center and arrested five men aged 18 and 19.
As the Hesse State Office of Criminal Investigation in Wiesbaden and the Frankfurt Customs Investigation Office announced on Tuesday, the operations forces became active on Friday (July 3) in Frankfurt's city center. According to this, they reportedly only learned on the same day that the act was to be carried out that very day. The raid made it possible to stop the plan "vor einer möglichen Tatausführung."
According to the information, the group allegedly planned to have at least one person shot by a hitman on the same day. The investigators do not rule out that further murders were planned. Overall, the swift intervention by the investigators may have prevented the execution of up to three contract killings.
