Assassination plot foiled in Frankfurt: five arrests

During searches carried out as part of the arrests, the operations forces also seized, among other things, two live firearms and 50 rounds of ammunition. In addition, approximately 300 grams of hashish and other forensically relevant items were seized. The investigators are evaluating these finds in connection with the murder complex.

Video glasses and preparation

The day after the arrests, the suspects were presented, upon application by the competent public prosecutor's office in Wiesbaden, to the investigating judge at the local district court. The five men have been in pretrial detention since then. This means that the accused have no contact with the outside world until a decision is made on the opening of the main trial.

Judicial steps

Five alleged ringleaders were arrested, as stated in the joint announcement by the State Office of Criminal Investigation and the Customs Investigation Office. According to this, they were apprehended on Friday before a planned act. A spokesperson for the Frankfurt Customs Investigation Office made no further statements regarding the specific background of the case.

Investigators in Frankfurt am Main may have prevented several planned contract killings. The Wiesbaden Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting the proceedings; the criminal tactical measures that led to the intervention on Friday were carried out jointly by police and customs investigators.
