A man was stabbed by an unknown perpetrator on Thursday evening in an apartment in Innsbruck-Wilten and was in acute danger to life, according to police.
The Tyrolean State Criminal Police Office opened an investigation on attempted murder the same evening, after the man had been found in the Tyrolean capital with multiple stab wounds. As police reported, the victim was admitted to a hospital after the attack. "There was acute danger to life," the investigators said. The precise background to the crime was not initially known.
According to current findings, the attack took place in an apartment in the Wilten district. The perpetrator was able to flee, according to police, and was on the run at the time of the report. The Innsbruck criminal investigators issued an appeal to possible witnesses.
