Austrian Vice-Chancellor and SPÖ leader Andreas Babler said on Friday that a draft bill shifting the country's sexual-consent standard to an explicit 'only yes means yes' model would go into parliamentary review on Monday, prompting a public clash with coalition partner ÖVP.

Speaking at an event organized by the SPÖ women's organization in Upper Austria, Babler confirmed the next procedural step for the long-debated consent legislation. "Auch Ja heißt Ja geht am Montag in Begutachtung", he said, referring to the draft's working title and using the German phrase for 'only yes means yes.' His remarks positioned the Social Democrats as pushing the bill forward despite resistance inside the governing coalition.
