Aachen, 10 August 2026

German prosecutors are examining more than 120 further cases potentially tied to a former nurse already convicted of ten murders and 27 attempted murders by the Aachen regional court.

The investigations centre on deaths and incidents that occurred at healthcare facilities where the man worked, prosecutors in Aachen said. The additional cases stretch beyond the ten killings for which he was sentenced to life in prison in November by the Aachener Landgericht.

Authorities have not disclosed the names of the facilities involved or the specific time period covered by the new review. The case has drawn sustained attention because of the unusually high number of victims attributed to a single healthcare worker and the length of time the alleged crimes are believed to have gone undetected.
