Unveiling at the Cornelius Bridge

A new monument honoring King Ludwig II has been on view at the Cornelius Bridge in Munich since Saturday. Minister-President Markus Söder attended the unveiling ceremony. At the ceremony, the head of government paid tribute to the monarch's many accomplishments: "Ludwig habe sich nicht nur der Kunst, sondern auch der Wissenschaft verschrieben und mit der Gründung der Technischen Universität in München eine der führenden Hochschulen in der EU geschaffen," the head of government said. The Technical University of Munich (TUM) was founded in 1868 on the initiative of the then-king.
