The German federal government of CDU/CSU and SPD is entering the decisive week before the parliamentary summer recess and wants to advance or finalize a bundle of major reform projects.
According to information from coalition circles, a meeting of the coalition committee with the top bodies of the CDU, CSU, and SPD is planned for Wednesday. In this meeting, the ongoing reform projects are to be brought together and the last political points of contention resolved. The last sitting week of the Bundestag before the summer recess runs from July 6 to 10; thereafter, the parliament will not meet again regularly until early September. The Bundesrat will convene for the last time before the summer recess on July 10.
