At the launch of the new school year, more than 300 teachers are missing at schools across the state of Brandenburg, according to Gordon Hoffmann.
The gap is therefore larger than in the previous school year, when 255 teachers were missing, Hoffmann said. He also announced several measures to ensure that teaching can be maintained as fully as possible. Brandenburg is thus facing a renewed worsening in terms of teacher demand.
According to Hoffmann's own statements, he first wants to try to bring teachers back from part-time into full or higher employment. They should be contacted with a request to teach more hours in the future. „Jede Stunde mehr Unterricht zählt“, he said, according to the briefing paper. This is intended to create additional capacity in the short term without having to advertise new positions immediately.
