Late on Saturday evening, on the fringes of Berlin's Christopher Street Day, a white box truck drove into a crowd in the Tiergarten near Potsdamer Platz; one woman was killed and, according to Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU), 29 other people were injured, several of them with life-threatening injuries.

Course of the attack in the Tiergarten

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in Berlin's Tiergarten near Potsdamer Platz. As police spokesman Florian Nath explained, a white box truck drove along Ahornsteig parallel to Lennéstraße and struck several people before the vehicle crashed into a tree. The driver left the vehicle and fled on foot in an unknown direction. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, a woman died at the scene from her injuries.
