Detroit, May 14, 2026

The Cleveland Cavaliers are on the verge of advancing to the NBA Playoffs semifinals after a hard-fought 117-113 overtime victory against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday (local time). The "Cavs" now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 and could reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2018 with another win.

Decisive Performance in Overtime

The Cavaliers mounted a strong comeback after trailing by as many as 15 points to the Pistons. A standout performance came from a 36-year-old player who joined the Cavaliers from the LA Clippers in the winter. He scored 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out six assists, playing a pivotal role in the win.

Head coach Kenny Atkinson praised the guard after the game as a "great leader with tremendous experience." The team once again demonstrated their mental toughness, especially in the critical moments of overtime.
