The San Antonio Spurs eliminated the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder with a 111-103 road victory in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night.
A Decisive Road Victory
Led by Victor Wembanyama's 22 points, the Spurs seized control in the second half and never relinquished it, securing their first Finals berth since their 2014 championship season. The win capped a dramatic series in which San Antonio forced a decisive game after trailing 3-2.
Oklahoma City, the top seed and reigning titleholder, had looked poised to return to the Finals after winning Game 5 at home. But the Spurs responded with a dominant 118-91 victory in Game 6 in Texas, setting the stage for a winner-take-all showdown in Oklahoma City.
