San Antonio, June 6, 2026

The New York Knicks won Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs 105-104 and head into the two home games at Madison Square Garden with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The game in San Antonio developed into a thriller that captivated spectators until the final minutes. The New York Knicks had built a comfortable lead over the course of the game before the Spurs began a comeback in the final quarter. The San Antonio team tied the game in the decisive phase and even took the lead temporarily.

Victor Wembanyama, who was once again the top scorer of the game with 29 points, put the Spurs ahead 103-102 with 57 seconds left – it was their first lead in the second half. However, the 22-year-old Frenchman immediately followed up with a turnover and a bad pass that opened the door back for the Knicks. Jalen Brunson, the Knicks' leader, then made one of two free throws to give New York a 105-104 lead. Wembanyama's attempt to decide the game on the Spurs' final possession missed the mark.
