The coalition negotiations between SPÖ, ÖVP and Neos on the climate law and an aid package for drought-stricken farmers ended on Wednesday without a final agreement and will be continued on Thursday morning.
The government negotiations between SPÖ, ÖVP and Neos have for days revolved around two interconnected issues: a new climate law and a package of drought aid for domestic agriculture. On Wednesday, no solution was yet in sight, which is why the talks are to be continued on Thursday morning. According to available reports, those involved in the negotiations include NEOS climate spokesperson Julia Herr as well as her party colleague Michael Bernhard, who is significantly responsible for the negotiation point on the Neos side. The Wirtschaftskammer (Austrian Federal Economic Chamber) and the Industriellenvereinigung (IV – Federation of Austrian Industries) are also involved in the consultations.
