The pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit has accused the Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair of building pressure during the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations for German pilots by imposing disciplinary measures on individual union members.

Background of the collective bargaining dispute

According to the union, "individual members of the negotiating committee and other employees close to the union have been confronted with disciplinary measures." Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) is now having the talks accompanied by professional negotiators and legal advisers. VC President Andreas Pinheiro justified this step as a "necessary response to the personal burden on the affected employees."
