The Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband is criticizing Deutsche Bahn because the cheapest fare for second-class travel between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. was unavailable on roughly three-quarters of the days examined.

What the Consumer Advocates Are Criticizing

As the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ)" reports, the cheapest fare advertised by the Bahn on its website was missing for second-class travel between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on roughly three-quarters of the days examined. The consumer advocates see this as evidence that the advertised Sparpreise are hardly bookable for travelers during the day.

Ramona Pop, the head of the Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband, stands behind the criticism of the company. From the consumer advocates' perspective, the lack of availability contradicts the Bahn's own advertising promises, which draw attention to offers with low prices that are then not actually available.
