The President of the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH), Jörg Dittrich, has called on the federal government to establish a commission to relieve businesses and employees from high non-wage labor costs.
Dittrich told the German Press Agency (dpa) that the economic situation in the crafts sector has deteriorated, "all current data show this." Revenue development across the entire crafts sector has been negative since the beginning of the year on a price-adjusted basis. In addition, individual segments such as structural construction are under massive pressure and are clearly in negative territory. The reform efforts of the governing coalition deserve explicit recognition, "the problem is that none of this has yet reached businesses, neither in the economic indicators nor in the mood."
