The company was also active on social media, with its Facebook page counting around 74,000 followers.

The main cause of the insolvency, according to the KSV, lies in the economic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, the company had decided to open seven new locations — shortly thereafter, lockdowns, business closures, and massive drops in revenue followed.

From Expansion into a Downward Spiral

A further decline in sales due to falling purchasing power in 2026 ultimately worsened the situation, according to the bankruptcy filing. The already weakened chain was caught in a downward spiral from which it could no longer extricate itself.

The insolvency also brings long-standing accusations against founder Roland Ludomirska back into focus. Critics had repeatedly accused the company of misleading customers through dubious business practices and exaggerated displays of luxury on social media. The closure of all locations is now fueling the debate over the legitimacy of the business model.

Renewed Criticism of Founder Ludomirska

The company's locations, including branches in Graz and the Plus City as well as an outpost in Straubing, served as flagships of the brand in recent years. With the insolvency, another piece of Austrian food retail history — one that became known primarily through its self-promotion — disappears from the market.

Outlook on the Bankruptcy Proceedings

For creditors, the insolvency likely means significant losses. While the assets are barely sufficient to cover the claims, those affected must expect considerable shortfalls. The bankruptcy proceedings at the Regional Court of Graz will now determine the next steps.
