Dacia Striker: New Lifestyle Estate Set to Shake Up the C-Segment from Late 2026

Dacia provisionally quotes a boot capacity of up to 600 litres, with a modular load floor and 60:40 split-folding rear seats operable from the cargo area designed to expand carrying capability. This positions the Striker as a spacious car in the C-segment, which, according to the manufacturer, has so far been dominated primarily by SUVs.

In the cockpit, Dacia uses a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen and the new digital driver information display "LightVisio", which presents information as a floating 3D image via optical reflection. Dacia has dispensed entirely with chrome trim and leather.

Three Hybrid Powertrains for Different Needs

The Striker is offered with three hybrid variants. The entry-level "mild hybrid-G 140" consists of a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder with a 48-volt starter-generator and bivalent petrol/LPG operation. Above it sits the full hybrid "hybrid 155" with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder, 80 kW output, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery. An automated four-speed gearbox for the combustion engine and a two-speed gearbox for the electric drive are said to enable up to 80 percent purely electric driving in urban traffic.

An electrified all-wheel-drive system is provided by the "hybrid-G 150 4x4" version, with a 1.2-litre mild hybrid (103 kW) and a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox on the front axle, plus a decouplable e-motor with 23 kW peak output on the rear axle. The system engages all-wheel drive up to 140 km/h and offers five driving modes from "Auto" to "Off-Road". This configuration is already familiar from the Bigster and Duster models.

On driver assistance, the Striker comes with the GSR2-compliant basic equipment: automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist are fitted as standard.

Efficiency and Sustainability as Sales Arguments

Dacia provisionally quotes CO₂ emissions of under 100 g/km. With a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.29, a sloped roofline and underbody panels are said to reduce consumption further. The manufacturer provisionally puts kerb weight at around 1,400 kilograms.

Sustainable material usage is another sales argument: according to Dacia, over 32 percent of the Striker is made from circular materials. In the Extreme trim, 47 kilogrammes of recycled plastics are used. Bumpers and wheel arch extensions contain 15 to 20 percent recycled polypropylene.

Pricing follows Dacia's typical strategy: the entry price is below €25,000, placing the Striker below many competitors in the C-segment. All-wheel drive with an electrified rear axle, which costs a €3,200 premium on similarly positioned Dacia models, remains an option on the Striker.

Production in Bursa and Market Launch at End of 2026

The Striker will be produced at the Bursa plant in Turkey, which Dacia says was selected for reasons of overall cost, capacity and synergies: "Pitesti comes to 350,000 cars annual capacity, Bursa to 400,000 – we work there six days a week, three-shift operation, every 56 seconds a car comes off the line." From 2027, over a third of production there is to be accounted for by the Striker. The plant also builds Renault Clios and Dacia Dusters.

Chief Designer David Durand frames the concept: "Die Kraft des Konzepts spricht für sich." Durand points to the brand's evolution from a cheap brand to a price-value brand and stresses that circular materials, while ideologically important, are more expensive to produce than new plastic: "Dieses gesprenkelte Rezyklat, das wir erst außen eingesetzt haben, im Striker erstmals auch innen verwenden: Das Problem ist nur, dass es in der Herstellung teurer ist als neues Plastik, es hilft uns also kostenseitig nicht weiter."

Looking ahead, Dacia management has set out an ambitious plan: by 2030, the brand's EV portfolio is to grow to four models, and the C-segment's share of Dacia sales is to rise from around 20 percent today to 33 percent by 2035. Whether the Striker delivers on these goals will become clear at the end of 2026, when it goes on sale in Germany as well.
