Denmark’s former Queen Margrethe II was hospitalized in Copenhagen on Thursday for a heart procedure following chest pain, with medical staff confirming she is recovering well.

Health Update and Hospital Stay

The 86-year-old former monarch was admitted to Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen’s university hospital, after experiencing what sources described as a "Herzkrampf" (heart spasm). According to hospital officials, she underwent a procedure to widen blood vessels and is expected to remain under observation through the weekend.

"Die Königin sei 'müde, aber bei guter Laune'" ("The queen is 'tired, but in good spirits'"), a statement from the palace noted. The condition, often linked to coronary artery calcification, was treated promptly, and Margrethe has reportedly responded well to initial care.
