The draft for review on the reform of the Federal Prosecutor's Office is still not available online weeks after the announced amendment, while initial statements from the judiciary, politics, and civil society are already publicly voicing criticism.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office is at the center of one of the most hotly debated judicial reforms in Austria this year. Observers have been waiting for weeks for the official draft for review, which according to APA has not yet been entered into the parliamentary system. Without this publication, the professional public and civil society lack the basis for a substantiated statement.

Corruption expert Martin Kreutner was particularly blunt on Tuesday in remarks to Ö1. His criticism was directed at the planned composition of the selection commission and the appointment procedure. Kreutner questioned the professional quality of the envisaged selection process and used a drastic image for it: „Sie lassen ja auch nicht einen Zahnarzt eine Herzoperation durchführen", Kreutner objected.
