Vienna police measured a car from the Bezirk Baden district traveling at 161 km/h on Triester Straße in a 50 km/h zone, leading to the confiscation of the driver's license and the planned auction of the vehicle.

Update from 30 July 2026: Vienna police have confirmed that the Audi involved in the high-speed incident on Triester Straße will now be auctioned off at a fixed price after attracting an unusually high number of bids. The vehicle had been offered at an auction with a starting bid of 50 but received 161 bids, according to multiple Austrian media reports. As the headline put it: "161 statt 50: Audi wird fix versteigert!"
