A 28-year-old Slovak man was stopped on Saturday in Wels while riding an intoxicated e-scooter, with a breathalyzer test showing 0.76 per mille and the vehicle having a design speed of 45 km/h according to police.
Police officers were on patrol on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. on the bicycle street along the Traun in Wels when they noticed an e-scooter rider. According to police, the rider was visibly traveling too fast and overtook all other road users. The patrol became aware of the man and initiated a check.
Noticeable riding behavior on the bicycle street
During the subsequent inspection, the officers determined that the e-scooter had a peak output of 1,000 watts and a design speed of 45 km/h. Since the 28-year-old appeared drunk to the police officers, an alcohol test was conducted. It showed a reading of 0.76 per mille.
