A 43-year-old German woman from Düsseldorf has been found guilty in Germany of supporting the terrorist militia "Islamic State" (ISIS).

According to several matching reports, the woman ran the Europe-wide prisoner aid initiative "Free Our Sisters," which is close to ISIS. Through this structure, she is alleged to have forwarded financial resources to ISIS fighters and their families.

According to the available information, the initiative was not limited to Germany but had links to, among others, France and Austria. The radius of action of the alleged support thus extended across several European countries.

The sources indicate that the woman collected and transferred funds with the aim of providing for members of the terrorist militia and their family members – for example, imprisoned ISIS members and their children. Under German law, such logistical and financial support fulfills the offense of supporting a terrorist organization.
