At the Equestrian World Championships in Aachen, Isabell Werth won the next medal with a daring freestyle, while 40,000 spectators had already whipped the equestrian venue into a frenzy before the final movements.
Ticket demand was one of the biggest talking points surrounding the Equestrian World Championships in Aachen, but in the stands around the dressage arena, it quickly became clear why organizers had expected the rush. 40,000 spectators followed the decisions on site and created goosebump-inducing atmosphere well before the final movements of Werth's freestyle, as the reporting shows.
Werth herself explained afterward that she had absolutely wanted to claim another spot on the podium. Her motto was therefore: "Flucht nach vorn und Risiko, Risiko, Risiko." The rider accordingly approached the freestyle offensively and was rewarded for her courage.
