The Essen Regional Court on Wednesday sentenced six defendants in connection with the violent death of a man in Gelsenkirchen to prison terms ranging from three and a half to twelve years.

In a trial concerning the violent death of a man following inheritance disputes within a family, the Essen Regional Court sentenced six defendants to multi-year prison terms. As a court spokesperson announced on Wednesday, the court imposed prison sentences ranging from three and a half to twelve years.
According to a WDR reporter who was present at the hearing, the defendant who was 16 at the time of the crime was sentenced to seven years in prison on the day the verdict was delivered. The court found five of them guilty of manslaughter in concurrence with dangerous bodily harm. Another defendant was convicted of dangerous bodily harm.
