At Catania airport, the situation has calmed somewhat following the chaotic scenes of recent days. According to the operators, they are working closely with the authorities, civil protection, and other airports in Sicily to resume as many connections as possible. Aircraft are being diverted to alternative airports on the island wherever feasible.
