The EU Commission wants to relieve farmers of the increased costs of nitrogen fertilizer with 500 million euros and proposes to increase the agricultural reserve of the Common Agricultural Policy by 300 million euros.

In view of sharply rising prices for nitrogen fertilizer, the EU Commission wants to support farmers in the European Union with a total of 500 million euros. This was stated by EU Agriculture Commissioner Christophe Hansen to the German Press Agency. "Die EU-Kommission will die Bauern und Bäuerinnen angesichts höherer Düngerkosten mit 500 Millionen Euro unterstützen." The funds are to flow through the agricultural reserve of the Common Agricultural Policy.
