Five European router manufacturers have joined forces in the newly founded association SAFENet and are calling on the EU to introduce strict security rules for imported network devices, modelled on the 5G regulations.

Background: An alliance with five founding members

The Sovereignty Alliance for European Network Technology (SAFENet) was founded in Berlin, according to the organization itself. Its members are the four German manufacturers devolo, FRITZ!, LANCOM, and TDT, as well as the Lithuanian company Teltonika. The alliance sees itself as a strategic association of leading European network technology companies and represents the interests of European manufacturers in political and regulatory processes. The alliance is open to further European manufacturers.
