A total of 5,000 officers were deployed across Austria, with an additional 500 private security personnel assisting, according to ORF Director General Ingrid Thurnher. Authorities conducted 22,000 security checks, resulting in 74 administrative and criminal charges.
Vienna Deputy Police President Dieter Csafan noted that 14 of the 16 arrests occurred during an unauthorized gathering at the city’s main library on the final day, where participants violated Austria’s anti-masking laws. "The suspects had 'despite warnings not left the location,'" Csafan said, adding that investigations are ongoing.
