A 66-year-old motorcyclist from the district of Grieskirchen was killed on Thursday in a head-on crash with a car on the B141a in Tumeltsham (district of Ried), after the 56-year-old car driver registered 2.2 per mille in an alcohol test.

According to the State Police Directorate of Upper Austria, the accident occurred on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at around 8:30 a.m. in the municipal area of Tumeltsham on the B141a, the Rieder Straße. The 56-year-old car driver from the district of Ried was traveling toward Walchshausen according to police, while the 66-year-old motorcyclist from Natternbach in the district of Grieskirchen was approaching in the opposite direction. For reasons as yet unexplained, the two vehicles collided head-on.
