The Federal Employment Agency (BA) expects a deficit of over eight billion euros in the current year and, according to its own statements, will require continuous support from the federal government in the coming years. This is according to a regular financial report from the Nuremberg-based authority, which has been seen by the German Press Agency and is addressed to the Bundestag's budget committee.

Forecast until 2030

According to the report, the deficit could be over eight billion euros in 2026. The total debt could even reach almost ten billion euros by the end of 2026 if federal liquidity assistance to the BA from the previous year is included. By 2030, the cumulative sum of federal liquidity assistance could amount to around 23 billion euros. Even in the projection year 2030, the deficit would still be 2.7 billion euros.
