Federal Minister of Justice Stefanie Hubig (SPD) is planning a price cap and a new kind of protected ticket in order to put a stop to the trade in overpriced tickets on the secondary market.
Commercial resellers buy up tickets in bulk, not infrequently with the help of automated software known as bots, and then sell them on at significantly higher prices. In an interview with the portal Web.de, Federal Minister of Justice Stefanie Hubig sharply criticized this practice: „Das ist Geschäftemacherei auf dem Rücken der Fans". She pointed out that „14-Euro-Tickets" were sometimes „für 250 Euro weiterverkauft" werden.
